Your hosts, Carol and Will Fox are originally from the UK and relocated to South Africa in 2007, following many years of involvement in African wildlife and conservation projects.
Their love of Africa was formed on their first visit in 1980 and led to frequent and longer vacations, culminating in the decision to give up successful careers in the UK in 2004 to follow their dream of working with African Wildlife.
Their initial work with Leopard Research and association with the Mpumulanga Parks Board led to them taking the lead role in formulating the Leutla Conservancy in 2006.
Carol says "it is a great privilege to be able to live and work in the Leutla Valley. This is a magnificent place which we felt should be shared with others."
Paperbark Bush Retreat was developed in 2006/7 by owners Lambert and Shelly Van der Nest and is located within the Leutla Conservancy. Together, Carol and Will delight in being able to help their visitors enjoy a worry-free, safe and relaxing taste of real Africa.
Will says "One thing I've learned from all my time visiting this country is that peace, natural unspoilt beauty and a real African experience are hard to come by. At Paperbark we provide all three."
